"Who are you?"
"I am the new Number 2."

Ahhh......the FAQ, the ultimate anti-e-mail device of all webmasters. Read, and have your questions answered.

Q: Who are you?

A: Jesus! Direct, aren't we? I am Garrett Aja. I'm 36 years old, and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Q: Why don't you just say UNLV?

A: Because this is a FAQ, and when writing a FAQ, one needs to assume that anyone dense enough to actually visit this page is very....dense.

Q: So you're saying that I'm stupid?

A: Yeah, pretty much.

Q: Gee, thanks. Anyways, there's all this Vermont talk on the site. Why the hell are you in Las Vegas?

A: I'm in Las Vegas because my parents moved out here in December of 1990, which was before the phrase "legally emancipated" had entered the American cultural lexicon (and, considering how royally I got screwed in the sale of my and my brother's toy collections, I may have had some small sliver of a case).

Q: So you just went to college in Las Vegas? Seems kinda boring.

A: I didn't go directly to UNLV-I spent four years at UNR (University of Nevada, Reno), until my financial aid ran out.

Q: Ran out? *snickers* Yeah, I'm sure it did.....

A: *glares* Shut up.

Q: So, you've graduated college. What are you going to do?

A: Dude, I can't even keep (OK, OK......get) a girl. What the Hell makes you think I know what I'm doing with my life?

Q: A lot of this is gonna get deleted in a couple of months, isn't it?

A: Wanna try 6 years?

Q: So, what are your favorite cartoons?

A: Everything I make eligible to review here is a favorite, but the crème de la crème would have to be: G.I. Joe, The Transformers, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Fat Albert, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, Dangermouse, Speed Racer, South Park, The Lone Ranger, Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle, The Powerpuff Girls, The Real Ghostbusters, Muppet Babies, Batman: The Animated Series, Kim Possible, Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra the classic Disney shorts, the classic Warner Bros. shorts, and the Fleischer Superman shorts.

Q: God, pick one already. *sighs* What are your least favorite cartoons?

A: Many, but the ones at the top of my shit list are: Pokemon, Thundercats, Gundam (all the incarnations), the DIC run of G.I. Joe, Captain N, as well as my long-standing general disdain for DIC and Hanna-Barbera.

Q: At least that's a shorter list. Is there any trend you like/don't like about cartoons in general?

A: I really don't like Filmation-bashing, especially since Hanna-Barbera is guilty of all the "cheap" practices Filmation is supposedly known for (and, in many cases, even more so). I'm really opposed to editing and censorship in cartoons, especially in foreign cartoons like Dragon Ball, or older cartoons from the Golden Age. I'm not a big fan of bad dub jobs, either, or taking credit for the work of others, either. *glares at Funimation*

Q: Any other interests that we should know about?

A: Lots. I play lots of video games-you'll see frequent references to Nintendo and Sega (especially the efforts of Shigeru Miyamoto and Sega's Sonic Team), in addition to a whole bunch of other games (read: whatever I'm playing at the moment). Tons of Star Trek and Star Wars references, in addition to lots of action movie references, and 80s movie references (plus the obligatory nods to the Golden Age of Hollywood). I'm very big into a number of romantic pairings, specifically Duke and Scarlett on G.I. Joe, Willow and Xander on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (note to Joss: Willow is bi!), and Fred and Wes on Angel (I believe I wrote this before they got together for all of one episode), to name a few.

Q: How do you select which shows you review?

A: I watch them, I like them, then I get my hands on good quality copies of the episodes and they become eligible for reviewing.

Q: How exactly do you review each show?

A: I pick an episode to review (basically no real rhyme nor reason to this, unless I'm on some sort of easy-to-predict pattern in my choices), then I watch it, taking screen grabs (including the aggravating-if-the-episode-is-on-videotape panning shots) as I go through the cartoon. Next up is making sound files (which, naturally, requires a second run-through the episode), even though I don't post them on the site because they take up too much space. Then comes the synopsis (which is done while watching the cartoon yet again), followed by the review (and *another* viewing of said cartoon). Once I've recovered from watching a cartoon like five million times, the cycle begins anew.

Q: Why this website?

A: Because I love cartoons, and I love to share my pretentious opinions with others. That, and it seemed really cool at the time. ;)

Q: Are you ever going to run out of things to do with this site?

A: When hell freezes over.

Q: How do the cartoon submissions work?

A: You e-mail me, I give you my address, and you send me a copy of the first three episodes of the series. I like, and you earn brownie points. I hate, and I mock you.

Q: Why must you mock us?

A: Because it's fun! >:)

Q: Why do you have editorials?

A: Largely so that I can have a personal soapbox (see the above comment about me loving to share my opinions), with which to discuss pressing matters (at least as I see them) in the world of animation, or elsewhere, whenever I see fit. Will anyone actually care what I rant about in my tiny and insignificant corner of the Internet? Probably not, but at least the venting will do me good.

Q: Why don't you put all of your links on the links page (as opposed to putting show-related links on each show's main page)?

A: I just think that all links related to a show would be best suited appearing on that show's main page.

Q: What kind of system do you use?

A: In order to produce this site, I use:

Computer-Apple iMac w/1 TB hard drive, 8 GB of RAM, and a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor
Video Capturing Device-InterView XLR8, VLC, DVD Snap 3
HTML editor-BlueGriffon 1.7.2
Photo editing-Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Editor
TV-Olevia stereo HDTV, model #232-T12
VCR-RCA mono, model #VR556 (last used)
HD DVD player-Microsoft Xbox 360 external HD DVD drive
Blu-ray player-PlayStation 3 "Slim" model 160 GB hard drive (upgraded to 1 TB), LG BP300 (modded for region free playback)

Q: What are your key philosophies?

A: Oh, boy.......Well, firstly, I believe that exclusion of any means-be it because of gender, race, religion, sexual preference, or even what side you butter your bread on to be disgusting and uncalled for. Secondly, when it comes to telling a story, I believe that the creator is, simply put, God. That is, unless we're talking about the characters. Your characters may shock you, offend you, make you laugh, make you cry,  and do a million other things, but if you try to force them to be something they aren't, then woe unto you. Also, I'm fairly liberal, so beware of that. Hypocrisy  is not tolerated here, and will be responded with stiff criticism. Carpe diem. Happiness is a warm gun.....but, more often, a warm puppy. And, most importantly, love is all you need.

Q: I'm out of questions. Is it OK to e-mail you?

A: Yup. Here.
